Date Night with Daddy

Emily's school put on a Father/Daughter Valentine's Dance. They made an evening out of it: dinner first at a restaurant of her choice (McDonald's), then off to the dance. Emily loved her date night with Daddy.

Bummer

I guess I spoke too soon. Hannah and I have resumed our middle-of-the-night rendezvous. 3 nights in a row.
Bummer. Big time.

Two Months

Since that first night of sleeping a good, long stretch, here's what this baby girl has done: 6 hours, then 8 hours, and last night was 9 hours! I am feeling GOOD! Over the past four days she's also improved her daytime sleep tremendously since I started playing piano hymns from the ipod in her room during naps. The difference has been like night and day, and I'm so very thrilled about that. For those that wonder, I've tried to follow guidelines from a book called "On Becoming Babywise" with all my babies. This go around, I've also read "The Secrets of the Baby Whisperer". Both help establish a proper routine, which assists in forming good sleeping habits among other things. I'd recommend both books to anyone with a baby.

Hannah performed perfectly for the doctor at her well visit, smiling and cooing up a storm. She weighs 10 pounds, 14 ounces (50%) and is 23 inches long (75%).

She Did It!!!!

Last night Hannah slept all night, a full 7 1/2 hours!! Woo hoo!!!!! Hopefully it wasn't just a fluke and she'll do it on a regular basis (and sleep even longer). I surprisingly still felt tired this morning , but all the effort we've made trying to get to this point may be finally paying off! Happy day!!

(By the way, she will be two months old tomorrow. Time is flying.)

My Valentine

I can't tell you how lucky, thrilled, grateful, and blessed I am that a long time ago he decided he wanted to be mine. I definitely married up, he's my better half, and life would be miserable without him. I love my Valentine!

Photo Shoots

These are from some photo shoots I attempted recently (though a couple of Hannah are from a while back). A lot are duplicates, just black and white versions, because I can never decide which I like better. I'm just a novice at this photography thing, but I sure like practicing.

Hannah is very easy to photograph - and not to mention cute as a button.

I took these outside in order to take advantage of a very rare cloudy day. The bribe of gum totally worked with Dallin and I got lots of good ones of him. He's such a handsome little guy.

The bribe didn't work as well with Emily, so there are just these two. It was on the spur of the moment, which is why her hair isn't done very cute. Other than that, I like the way they turned out. She's a pretty little girl.

I've made several of attempts to photograph Megan with little success. The two factors working against me: she's a busy body and you can't bribe an 18-month-old. I'm confident I can get some good shots with someone else there who can help her sit still, look at the camera, etc. I'd also like to take a picture of all four kids, a doozy of a challenge I imagine. And of course, a family photo would be nice too.

One Month

Our little Hannah (we often call her Hannahbelle or Hannah Banana) is one month old today. In some ways it's gone really fast and in others it seems like she's been around for a long time. She is a very sweet baby, and a good cuddler. We've even gotten some smiles out of her recently. Here are a few snapshots of her over the course of the month.

We sure love her and can't imagine our family without her anymore. And can I just mention how glorious it is to NOT be pregnant?
